Rugby is around the corner!

2023 registration is now open!

In order for us to have a successful season, we are looking for Coaching and Assistant Coaching Staff. Please indicate on the registration form box if you are willing to help coach.

The Dollard Barbarians Rugby Club realizes that the future of rugby rests with our youth. With this in mind we provide fun, exciting and active programs for young rugby players. The training sessions are designed to help adolescents develop better balance, physical skills, tackling techniques, endurance, and strength while having lots of fun. Programs are also designed with safety in mind and to better educate players about the benefits of rugby.

Rugby is one of the fastest growing sports in Quebec. It is the second most popular sport in the world, behind soccer.

Everyone is welcome – no experience necessary – BOYS AND GIRLS

This is a sport for boys and girls of every shape and size. Junior rugby is about learning the sport of rugby, meeting new friends, and getting active. Children who play rugby become: more self-confident, more disciplined, more resilient, stronger and healthier.

The Dollard Barbarians will be following Rugby Canada’s Rookie Rugby mini program.

Teams and Cost (Includes T-shirt):

Under 16 (2008 – 2007) $245.00 – Contact. Two practices a week plus six games and two tournaments.
Under 18 (2006 – 2005) $245.00 – Contact. Two practices a week plus six games and two tournaments.

Practice location:

Westwood Park, 45 Thornton, Dollard des Ormeaux

Season:

We are starting May 18^th (6:30) at Westwood Park (45 Thornton, DDO). The season will run from mid-May until the end of August. We typically practice Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:30 to 7:30. There will be two practices a month where all the clubs in the WEST team will participate in a merged practice.

Parent Membership:

Additionally, parents can take out memberships for themselves. This would give you a vote at the next AGM and 100% of the money would be used to support the club and youth program.

Waiver

Athletes and parents must be aware that there are unanticipated risks of injury to anyone playing sports and that the risk of injury increases in contact sports. Rugby is a contact sport. Some risks cannot be predicted or controlled.

My son/daughter is physically able to participate in all rugby activities.

The higher the level of skill, fitness and training the better prepared the player is to play rugby and the more the risk of injury is reduced.
